Yeah, we’re all excited that baseball is back. But that excitement has nothing to do with proclaiming that Mark Buehrle made the play of the year on opening day. Watch the Mark Buehrle video below — and then be sure to pick your jaw up off the ground.
As you’ll see in the video, the Chicago White Sox pitcher first makes a kick save on a liner up the middle. He then sprints over to foul territory to track down the ball. In one motion, Buehrle snatches the ball and flings it between his legs to first base. Amazingly, he got the runner out. You have to see it to believe it!
Oh and Buehrle was good on the mound as well. In seven shutout innings, he gave up three hits and one walk while striking out three batters. Thanks to Buehrle’s greatness, the White Sox began their season with a memorable 6-0 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first game of the 2010 MLB season.
